Botany – Botanique

For illustrating this section, we can produce on request at least two large HD posters (up to 180x100 cm in size). These posters should be adapted to each country, on a case-by-case basis, in order to prominently feature locally produced coconut products and knowledge.

Botanical drawings of coconut palms, some superb, can be used in a poster. Its objective will be to illustrate the work and history of ancient botanists, but also to transmit information on the morphology and physiological functioning of the coconut palm.




Another type of drawing, more surprising, shows illustrations of a botanical type, but unrealistic. The drawings do not correspond to the reality of the coconut tree. At certain times (and still now for that matter) the coconut tree fascinated people. It seems that some "living room botanists" would have drawn coconut trees without ever having seen it, and without ever having travelled!

In the museum, the comparison of the field work of real botanists and the fanciful representations of living room botanists could be of great effect.
